Lent is a special time of year for us as Christians. Lasting 40 days, it is a season of prayer, fasting, and renewed recognition of our responsibility for one another. By embracing Lent, we grow closer to God through intentional acts of prayer, sacrifice, and kindness.
Lent begins on Wednesday, February 18 with Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting and abstinence from meat. Our school community will gather to celebrate Mass at 10:00 a.m. and receive ashes, a sign of repentance and our willingness to change our lives to conform to Christ’s teachings.
Following Mass, the student body will participate in a Lenten retreat designed to deepen our understanding of the meaning of Lent and encourage us to embrace the 40-day Lenten journey. Throughout the season, the St. Kieran community will journey together through our theme, “Living the Beatitudes Through Lent.” We invite all members of our community to join us as we reflect, grow, and prepare our hearts during this sacred season.
