Price of Tuesday personal pizza is increasing on new orders to $3.50. This is effective immediately.
Please mark your calendars for our pasta dinner and art show. Hosted by the Altar and Rosary Society, the dinner and show will take place in Mercy Hall on April 24 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Ticket costs are $10 for adults and $7 for children. The dinner includes pasta with meat sauce, salad, bread, ice cream, and punch or coffee. Beer, wine, cannoli, pizzelle, and a 50/50 raffle are available for purchase. We hope to see you there!
The golf tournament and golf ball drop are coming up on May 21 and 22.
We have a few things you can do to help us get busy!

- Get your golf buddies to play the course
Students will soon begin receiving their golf packets. This is our last fundraiser of the school year, and we appreciate your help!
Your SchoolSpeak account is now accessible. SchoolSpeak is an intranet designed to serve our school community. You may access all school information any time, from anywhere through your account. Our goal is to be more green and to use less paper but maintain the standards of communication. Check your email for your login credentials. Please visit the SchoolSpeak Portal.

We will collect PE uniform orders for the month, fill the order, and deliver the uniforms the first week of the next month. For example: if you order online on February 16, your order will be ready for pickup in the first week of March.
The sixth-grade families would like to say a hearty thanks to all who participated in their Panda Express Fundraiser. They raised $86.01 to help offset the cost of 6th-grade camp. They will be heading to camp the week of April 20. Many thanks, and they will help you out when it’s your turn!
Please understand that sending your child to school sick will prolong their illness, spread the illness to others at school as well as family members. Our teachers and staff understand that children become ill and are working diligently to assist students that are experiencing illness. Please inform the office or your child's teacher if your child received a diagnosis of influenza. Thank you in advance!
Lent is just ahead! Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 26. We invite you to join us for the school Mass at 10:00 a.m. If that is too late for you, there will be a Mass at 7:30 a.m. that day as well.
Catholic Schools Week is on Sunday, January 26 through Friday, January 31. Please participate in the following daily activities:
- Sunday, January 26 - Mass at 10:00 a.m.
- Monday, January 27 - Pajama Day - Students may wear their favorite pajamas to school instead of their school uniforms.
- Tuesday, January 28 - Color Day - Preschool wears purple, kindergarten wears red, 1st grade wears orange, 2nd grade wears yellow, 3rd grade wears green, 4th grade wears light blue, 5th grade wears purple or pink, 6th grade wears grey, 7th grade wears dark blue, and 8th grade wears black or white.
- Wednesday, January 29 - Wacky Add-Ons Day - Show your school spirit and be creative wearing some silly, wacky add-ons such as hats, hair embellishments, and socks.
- Thursday, January 30 - Sports Day - Students may wear their favorite sports team jersey, t-shirt, or team uniform.
- Friday, January 31 - Take the Purple Plunge and Wear Your School Color Day - Show your school spirit by wearing purple accessories and add-ons, or dress in purple from head to toe.
Attention, all football players! Please turn in uniforms by Saturday, February 1. Thank you!
All are welcome at the 8th Annual San Diego Walk for Life. This event is on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Balboa Park. There are activities for all ages. For more information visit the San Diego Walk for Life website.
Please join us at the Panda Express located at 131 Broadway Ave (near the El Cajon Del Taco) on Saturday, January 25 anytime during their business hours. This fundraiser will help to send our sixth graders to camp. All you need to do is show up, order food, and show the paper or digital version of the Panda Express flyer. A flyer will follow in the Thursday, January 23 envelope and we will send an email with the flyer before the event. Thank you for your support!
The winter season will begin on Saturday, January 11. Please turn in all uniforms from fall sports. Combo varsity basketball practice will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 until 4:00 p.m. If you’re interested in coaching, being an assistant coach, or a team mom/dad, please let us know. As family and friends gather for the holidays, flu activity is increasing. Now is the time to get a flu vaccine if you haven’t yet. The flu makes a lousy Christmas gift!
We would like to thank everyone for your support of our Rubio’s fundraiser. We raised $264.76 for our sixth-grade camp fund. Please stay tuned for another fundraiser to come in January.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Advent and Christmas on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, in St. Kieran Church. We have performances at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 pm. The 2:00 p.m. performance is less crowded and is a great option for people who prefer not to drive at night. This year, we have the blessing of having a professional videographer in our community who will video both performances so our parents can relax and enjoy the program. We will email a link to the videos to our families. May your Advent meditations bring you closer to Jesus and others this holy season!

Our kindergarten and 1st grade Thanksgiving play and feast is on Thursday, November 21 from 11:00 a.m. to noon. We look forward to seeing you there!
Thanksgiving break is on Monday, November 25 through Friday, November 29. School resumes on Monday, December 2. Have a safe and enjoyable break!
Mark your calendars for the upcoming gala! This event is on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the Barona Event Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. We will have a live band, casino games, silent auction, and raffles. The tickets are $60. RSVP by Friday, January 24. You can RSVP online at Paperless Post. Soon, we will let you know how to go about logging your service hours online. Keep an eye out for this important information. In the meantime, keep your own list of the service hours that you have already devoted to SKCS. When it’s up & running, you can add them to your online log. Please know how much we appreciate you and count on you! You bring so much energy and enthusiasm to all our school activities. The PTG board thanks you!
Our Feast of All the Saints school mass is on Friday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m. We encourage students to come dressed up as their favorite saint.
Parent-teacher conferences are on Thursday, November 7 and on Friday, November 8. We will dismiss students at noon on both days. Please note that we will give out report cards at conferences.
Our annual fundraiser is here. The Jogathon is October 18, 2019. Wear your Jogathon t-shirt, PE shorts, sneakers, sunscreen, and a hat. Dismissal is at noon, and we will have lunch for those who order it.
We invite everyone to complete the safe environment training. You can access the training on the CMGConnect website. Once connected, please follow the below instructions.

Winter sports registration is open until November 22. The winter sports season will begin on January 11. Please register on our Winter Registration page. The sports that we offer are:
- Girls Soccer – grades K through eighth
- Boys Soccer – grades K through fourth
- Basketball – grades fifth through eighth
We encourage our athletes to play with honor!
You may wear your Halloween costume to school on October 31. Costumes must be modest, light-hearted, and appropriate. The costume parade is at 2:00 p.m. Uniforms should not have violent themes or gore, no weapons of any kind, only a small amount of face paint, etc. You can also wear orange and black.
Chairman Romero of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and California State Assemblyman Randy Voepel from the 71st District presented St Kieran Catholic School with a check for $5,000. We are so thankful!
Please mark your calendar for the blessing of the animals. This event will occur on Monday, October 7 at 8:15 a.m. Let all creation praise the Lord, you animals, wild and tame, you creatures that crawl and fly. Ps. 148
- We invite you to bring your pet for a special blessing.
- If you can’t bring your pet, you might bring a picture.
- Families must bring the pet and take it home after the blessing.
- Pets must be in a cage or on a leash.
- You must control your pets at all times.
We look forward to your participation and blessing your pet.
If your child is absent or will be late for some reason, email the teacher with a copy to the office with an explanation. You can also call the office. If your child returns from a medical or dental appointment, we require he/she to bring a slip from the medical office verifying he/she was present at the appointment. We are having a back-to-school contest for box tops. Please send in your box tops through Friday, September 27. Place all box tops in ziplock bags with your child’s name and grade. The top two students who submit the most box tops will get a free dress pass courtesy of Mrs. Provo.

Our back-to-school night is on Thursday, September 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Please attend this important event to learn about our school's goals for the year, meet your child's teachers, and find our how you can collaborate with them to help your child have a successful year of learning. We look forward to seeing you there!
If your child needs to keep medication at school, parents must bring it into the office in the original packaging and complete the proper forms. Children may not carry medications, even cough drops, on their person or in their backpacks. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please join us at the back to school 10:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, August 25, followed by a picnic. For the picnic immediately following the mass please bring chairs, a blanket and lunch, or you can purchase lunch from the food truck that will be onsite. We hope to see you there!
