Christmas Shopping

Are you planning on doing your Christmas shopping through Amazon this year? Order your gift cards now, and then use them online to make your purchases! It is a win-win: you get scrip credit and the school gets a percentage.

6th Grade Camp Fundraiser

Please join us at the Rubio’s in Parkway Plaza on Saturday, November 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to raise money for the 6th grade camp fund. Just show the flyer from the Thursday envelope, or download it on your cell phone from the St. Kieran Catholic School’s Facebook page. Thank you for your support!

Thanksgiving Play and Feast

Our kindergarten and 1st grade Thanksgiving play and feast is on Thursday, November 21 from 11:00 a.m. to noon. We look forward to seeing you there!

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break is on Monday, November 25 through Friday, November 29. School resumes on Monday, December 2. Have a safe and enjoyable break!

Gala

Mark your calendars for the upcoming gala! This event is on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the Barona Event Center. For more information, please email Michelle Stephenson, chair of the gala.

Coming Soon: Tracking Service Hours

Soon, we will let you know how to go about logging your service hours online. Keep an eye out for this important information. In the meantime, keep your own list of the service hours that you have already devoted to SKCS. When it’s up & running, you can add them to your online log. Please know how much we appreciate you and count on you! You bring so much energy and enthusiasm to all our school activities. The PTG board thanks you!

Feast of All the Saints School Mass

Our Feast of All the Saints school mass is on Friday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m. We encourage students to come dressed up as their favorite saint.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences are on Thursday, November 7 and on Friday, November 8. We will dismiss students at noon on both days. Please note that we will give out report cards at conferences. 

Jogathon

Our annual fundraiser is here. The Jogathon is October 18, 2019. Wear your Jogathon t-shirt, PE shorts, sneakers, sunscreen, and a hat. Dismissal is at noon, and we will have lunch for those who order it. 

Safe Environment Training

We invite everyone to complete the safe environment training. You can access the training on the CMGConnect website. Once connected, please follow the below instructions.

  • Watch the safe environment training video.
  • Acknowledge the Code of Ethical Standards that follow the video.
  • Complete the information for the background check.

Safe Environment Training

Winter Sports Registration

Winter sports registration is open until November 22. The winter sports season will begin on January 11. Please register on our Winter Registration page. The sports that we offer are:

  • Girls Soccer – grades K through eighth
  • Boys Soccer – grades K through fourth
  • Basketball – grades fifth through eighth

We encourage our athletes to play with honor!

Halloween Costumes

You may wear your Halloween costume to school on October 31. Costumes must be modest, light-hearted, and appropriate. The costume parade is at 2:00 p.m. Uniforms should not have violent themes or gore, no weapons of any kind, only a small amount of face paint, etc. You can also wear orange and black.

Check Presentation

Chairman Romero of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and California State Assemblyman Randy Voepel from the 71st District presented St Kieran Catholic School with a check for $5,000. We are so thankful!

Blessing of the Animals

Please mark your calendar for the blessing of the animals. This event will occur on Monday, October 7 at 8:15 a.m. Let all creation praise the Lord, you animals, wild and tame, you creatures that crawl and fly. Ps. 148

Guidelines:

  • We invite you to bring your pet for a special blessing.
  • If you can’t bring your pet, you might bring a picture.
  • Families must bring the pet and take it home after the blessing.
  • Pets must be in a cage or on a leash.
  • You must control your pets at all times.

We look forward to your participation and blessing your pet.

Student Absences

If your child is absent or will be late for some reason, email the teacher with a copy to the office with an explanation. You can also call the office. If your child returns from a medical or dental appointment, we require he/she to bring a slip from the medical office verifying he/she was present at the appointment. Thank you for your understanding.

Traffic Tie-Up

At drop off in the morning, please keep the line of traffic moving. If you stop and chat with other parents, and/or get out of your vehicle, you hold everybody else up. Please keep the traffic line moving. Drop off your kids and move on. If you need to talk to other parents, please park out of the way. Thank you for your understanding and your support!

Support Our 6th-Grade Band

Coaches Needed

The sports program is currently recruiting coaches for the 2019–2020 school year. If you’re interested in coaching, being an assistant coach, or a team mom/dad, please let us know.

Open House

Please mark your calendars for Sunday, September 15. Our open house will be after the 10:00 a.m. mass. We invite you to bring along your family, friends, and neighbors to come check out our fabulous school! The time of this event is from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. We hope to see you there!

Box Tops Contest

We are having a back-to-school contest for box tops. Please send in your box tops through Friday, September 27. Place all box tops in ziplock bags with your child’s name and grade. The top two students who submit the most box tops will get a free dress pass courtesy of Mrs. Provo.

Open House

Please join us for our open house on Sunday, September 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors to check out our fabulous school.

New Online Fall Sports Registration

Our fall sports season will begin on Saturday, September 21, and our new online system is up and running for fall sports registration. Please visit the sportsengine website to register online today! Our registration deadline is on Monday, September 9. Check out our August 29, 2019, newsletter for additional details.

No School

There is no school on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy your long weekend!

Back-to-School Night

Our back-to-school night is on Thursday, September 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Please attend this important event to learn about our school's goals for the year, meet your child's teachers, and find our how you can collaborate with them to help your child have a successful year of learning. We look forward to seeing you there!

Medication

If your child needs to keep medication at school, parents must bring it into the office in the original packaging and complete the proper forms. Children may not carry medications, even cough drops, on their person or in their backpacks. Thank you for your cooperation.

Back to School Mass

Please join us at the back to school 10:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, August 25, followed by a picnic. For the picnic immediately following the mass please bring chairs, a blanket and lunch, or you can purchase lunch from the food truck that will be onsite. We hope to see you there!

Uniforms

Be sure to order new PE uniforms from San Diego Silkscreen & Embroidery and new formal uniform items from Dennis Uniform. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about ordering your uniforms. Thank you!

Play Flag Football or Girls Volleyball

Sign-up now to play flag football or girls volleyball for the 2019–2020 school year! If you are interested, please email Mrs. Pina-Hardin.

Report Cards

Please be aware, report cards are not given on the last day of school. Teachers need time to fully complete the 4th quarter. We mail reports the week of June 21. You can pick up originals before June 28, or when school reopens. Thank you for your understanding.

First Day Of School

The first day of the 2019–2020 school year is on Monday, August 26. We are looking forward to seeing you for another great year!
